COURSE DESCRIPTION


Science and Technology Program and Planning course is one of the Science Teaching courses.


The aim of this course is to provide students with awareness of the vision, general objectives, achievements, learning areas, learning outcomes, etc. of Science Education Curriculum, and to gain knowledge and experience in preparing lesson plans in line with the understanding envisaged in this curriculum.


Finally, this course will focus on the measurement and evaluation tools and methods proposed by the curriculum.


GOAL


The aim of this course is to make students aware of all aspects of Science Curriculum.


It is aimed to provide the experience of preparing lesson plans that can realize the objectives in line with the basic vision and understanding of science curriculum.


In order to prepare effective and functional lesson plans, knowledge and skills of using activity-centered and active teaching techniques will be developed.



METHOD


Science and Technology Program and Planning course will be mostly student centered, activity and problem centered.


 PLACE AND TIME


Science and Technology Program and Planning course will be held at the place and time indicated in the department timetable.


 CREDIT


Principles and Methods of Planning and Evaluation in Teaching is a 3-credit course. ECTS is 5.

EVALUATION


In the evaluation, an interim evaluation activity based on the performance and practice as 50% and the final evaluation activity 50% will be calculated.  In this course, attendance is the main criterion of success rather than midterm or final evaluation.
