COURSE DESCRIPTION


Curriculum Development is one of the main courses of the Curriculum and Instruction Ma. program.



Curriculum development can be defined as the organization of the experiences needed to achieve the objectives of a course or field.


This organization may include processes such as setting objectives, defining them as learning outcomes, selecting and organizing experiences, and preparing assessment tools and processes.


THE AIM OF THE COURSE


The main objective of Curriculum Development course is to provide students with the notions of “curriculum“ and “curriculum development"


It is aimed to ensure that the students who take the course first reach the cognitive and emotional readiness that will form the basis of the program development process.


In addition, students will experience step-by-step curriculum development processes.


How different approaches can be applied in curriculum development processes and the changes they will cause will be noticed.


At the end of the course students are expected to be able to plan and implement curriculum development process and gain knowledge and experience.



METHOD


• Discussion, demonstration, group work and similar techniques will be used in this course.



PLACE / TIME


The course will be held at the place and time shown in the department program.


CREDIT


This course is 3 credits and 8 ECTS.

 



EVALUATION


Assessment Methods- One midterm exam, 3 or 4 assignments will be given and a final examination. Mid-term (% 30), assignments (% 20) and final exam (% 50) weighted. 


ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCE


Attendance is one of the basic conditions. student regulations are essential.

  • Student Centered - Child / Learner Centered, Experience Centered, Romantic, Humanist, Existential designs
  • Problem-centered, Reconstructor, Living Conditions, Core designs


5-7. Week - Program Development Process

  • Needs Analysis Approaches and Methods
  • Writing Objectives, Objectives and Achievements
  • (Values ​​education titles are distributed to the students, and examples are given to write goals and gains and work on their own titles)
